- Litigation Attorney
Description
We are seeking a Litigation Attorney with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to manage a growing caseload. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, thrive with minimal supervision, and be driven to achieve their monthly goals. The candidate should be licensed in Ohio. In addition, licenses in Kentucky, West Virginia and/or Indiana are strongly preferred.
Key responsibilities include:
- Represent clients at litigation hearings throughout the states of Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia
- Provide legal guidance to and partner with clients on a wide-range of issues to ensure achievement of business objectives while minimizing legal risks and liability
- Draft briefs and motions, including appellate briefs
- Manage a large caseload
- Draft motions, briefs, discovery responses and other legal documents
- Effectively communicate to help drive alignment with clients and other business partners
- Manage and coordinate with your team

- Knowledge of the national mortgage servicing industry and standard law firm case management systems is a plus.

- Practical working knowledge of modern technology and the ability to use it effectively.
- Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to multi-task while maintaining a positive culture.
- Ability to organize workload and manage cases in a rapid paced environment.
- A strong understanding of the FDCPA, or a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of secured creditor Bankruptcy issues.
- Highest ethical standards and a strong work ethic.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
- Admission to the practice of law in Ohio, with a strong preference for additional admissions in Kentucky, West Virginia, and/or Indiana, or the ability to immediately waive into those states.
- Admission to the US District Courts in all states in which they are licensed or the ability to obtain admission.
- Reliable transportation and a willingness to travel to court appearances.
- At least one to five years of litigation experience in real estate, foreclosure, and/or other creditor rights practice areas.
