Dykema’s Health Care group is seeking an associate attorney with 1-4 years of experience in health care law and a strong background in contract drafting and negotiation. Bloomfield Hills is the preferred location, but we will also consider candidates based in Detroit and Ann Arbor. This role is ideal for an attorney who is eager to grow in the health care and life sciences space and work closely with senior attorneys in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, with a particular focus on:
- Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs)
- Data Use Agreements (DUAs)
- Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs)
- Business Associate Agreements (BAAs)
- Draft acquisition agreements and related corporate documents.
- Advise clients on compliance with FDA regulations, the Common Rule, ICH-GCP guidelines, HIPAA, and research-specific data privacy and security requirements.
- Assist with policy development and template creation for clinical research programs.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex regulatory, transactional, and contractual matters.
- Provide general corporate support, including entity formation, capitalizations, governance, shareholder agreements, and customer/supplier relationships.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the Michigan bar is required.
- 1-4 years of experience practicing health care law, ideally at a law firm or in-house with a health care or life sciences organization.
- Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating CTAs, NDAs, BAAs, and DUAs (or prior contracting experience with a strong interest in building a practice in this area).
- Familiarity with clinical research compliance frameworks (FDA, Common Rule, HIPAA, ICH-GCP).
- Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills with a client-service mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach when working with internal and external clients across all levels.
