Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Attorney to join our dynamic family law firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law and a passion for advocating on behalf of clients. This role requires excellent legal acumen, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively. LOPEZ LAW OFFICE, P.C. provides the resources for an Associate Attorney to grow in developing their practice skills.
LOPEZ LAW OFFICE, P.C. specializes in family law. Specifically, Dissolution of Marriage, Paternity, Child Support, Father’s Rights, Custody & Child Support Modifications, Step-Parent & Second Parent Adoptions, Name & Gender Marker Changes, Guardianships, Pre & Post Nuptial Agreements, Contract review, Estate Planning, and LGBTQ+ matters. Our Attorneys serve as Mediators, Parenting Coordinators, and Guardian Ad Litems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Client Representation:
Represent clients in family law matters.
Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice tailored to each client’s unique situation.
Prepare and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and agreements.
Advocate for clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Case Management:
Manage a caseload of cases from inception to resolution.
Develop case strategies and work closely with clients to achieve their legal goals.
Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in family law.
Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
Utilization of case management software.
- Collaboration and Support:
Work collaboratively with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the firm’s overall strategy and growth.
Mentor junior attorneys and provide guidance on complex legal issues.
- Client Relations:
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and address any concerns.
Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience practicing family law.
- Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with case management software.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred but not required.
